Everything we do is built around the group sound, so you’ll blend in straight away and feel part of it within minutes.

Most people arrive a bit unsure.That’s completely normal — and it doesn’t last long.
What it actually feels like...
You walk in not quite knowing what to expect.

We guide everything step by step, so you don’t have to work too hard — you just follow along.
And then, at some point, it clicks. Then you can just relax and enjoy it!
And all of a sudden you're contributing to something that sounds… pretty great.

No need to read music, we provide lyric sheets with some helpful cues for every song we sing.

THE STORY SO FAR...
The Contemporary Chorus
What began as a simple conversation between founders Joe Keegan and Dan Taylor has grown into something far bigger than a local choir.
​
From the very beginning, the vision was clear: to create opportunities for connection across the boroughs of Greater Manchester. A space where strangers could come together, sing, and experience the uplifting power of begin part of a choir.
​
Over the past three years, that vision has steadily taken shape. The Contemporary Chorus has become a welcoming, inclusive community—open to everyone, whether you’re an experienced performer or simply looking for connection, confidence, and joy through music.
​
In the last year alone, that growth has accelerated. Our community is now over 200 members strong, with deeper connections, bigger ambitions, and more bold and exciting projects taking centre stage. What once felt like an idea has become something truly special to be part of.
​
Looking ahead, our focus remains rooted in regional access. We’re expanding across the North of England—into areas such as Merseyside, Lancashire, and Cheshire—with the aim of building a network of local choirs with strong roots in their respective communities.
​
Beyond that, our vision stretches nationwide. We see The Contemporary Chorus evolving into a UK-wide community, united through large-scale events, national choir festivals, and collaborative performances that bring people together through the power of singing.

And this is just the beginning.
