Hi, I’m Anna, and I’m thrilled to be a new director with The Contemporary Chorus! With over 25 years of experience as a singing teacher and choir leader, I’ve worked across both classical and contemporary styles—from The National Youth Choirs of Great Britain to a jazz band with members of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, to pop and rock music with numerous bands across the North West.​

 

I studied music performance at LIPA and now run my own music studio, helping singers of all ages and levels find their voice. Most recently, I led a choir to the finals of the Lancashire Choir of the Year competition, and I truly believe that singing together is one of the best things we can do for our physical, mental, and social well-being. Choir isn’t just about music—it’s about joy, connection, expression, and confidence. I aim to keep every rehearsal fun, supportive, and uplifting. Whether you’re a seasoned singer or just starting out, I want you to leave each session feeling empowered, encouraged, and excited for the next one. I can’t wait to get started!
